Emotional Assessment

Identifying how you are feeling is the first step to getting on top of your mental health. Most of the time when we think about how we are feeling we say things like “ Good” Fine” or “Okay”. The emotional assements will help you get deeper and find words to express your emotions. We cannot selectively numb emotions, when we numb the painful emotions, we also numb the positive emotions”- Brené Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection

Feelings Chart

The Chart below can help you find more specific words to identify your feelings.  These more specific emotions can help you to have a deeper understanding of what you are experiencing.

The Feelings Wheel  has “core” or basic emotions (emotions that are more easily identified or expressed) in the center of the circle and more complex, specific,  or “secondary” emotions on the outer edge.
